Nigerian Football Federation intermediary Ojo Paul Omamomo on Friday held a scouting program at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium (Nest of Champions).
The program was hosted by NFF Intermediary in the capital city of Uyo, where it received the former Ghana International Willie KLUTSE and Chairman of Inter Allies FC, Ghana Omar Nasser El-Eter.
Omar, Klutse and Ojo Omamomo arrived on Thursday night and was received by the club director of Blessed Stars Football Academy at the Ibom International Stadium ahead of the program which was scheduled for Friday by 8am.
The program which played host to top clubs and football academies in the state had in attendance Akwa United F.C., Blessed Stars Football Academy, FC One Rocket, Hope of Glory FC and Superstar FC, Uyo.
At the height of the event, the Chairman Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly Committee on Youths, Security and Sports Hon. Essien Nse graced the scouting program. Essien Nse is also the Chairman of FC One Rocket, an Akwa Ibom based club playing amaetuer league.
Mr Klutse during the program stated that there are numerous talented players in Nigeria and especially in Akwa Ibom that need to be given opportunity at the international level.
During the program over 10 players were selected and will be set to leave to Ghana this March ahead of the Inter Allies’s tour in Denmark this summer.
The Chairman Akwa Ibom State House Committee on Youths, Sports and Security said that its looking forward to partner with clubs such as Inter Allies and agencies like OPO Sports Management Limited to strengthen sports in the state.
While speaking with Ojo Paul he said that he chose to host programs in Uyo because of “quality of players”. He also said that the state has one of the best stadiums in Nigeria.
Ojo in a closing remark said that “Taking players to Europe to sign professional contracts is my priority”.
