In his post-match remarks, Ilechukwu admitted the result was disheartening for both himself and the club’s loyal fans. However, he remained optimistic about the team’s prospects, assuring supporters that they would be celebrated at the end of the season.
“I warned my players before the game that it would be a tough match, which it turned out to be. We created numerous chances but only converted one, while our opponents capitalized on the two opportunities they had,” he explained.
Ilechukwu called on fans to remain steadfast in their support, describing Rangers as the best team in the league despite the setback.
Rangers will aim to bounce back when they face El-Kanemi Warriors in Maiduguri for a Matchday 21 fixture on Wednesday, January 29, 2025.
