Dannaz FC climbed to the top of the 2021 Fusion Football Championship league table after beating Broad City FC 1-0 in a tight game on Saturday.
Dannaz FC attacking midfielder Ifeanyi Obi was handed the Haggai MVP of the match award following the conclusion of the game. Speaking on receiving the award, Obi expressed his joy and dedicated the award to his club’s manager.
“I feel very, very good winning this award. This is my first time of winning it. I just feel good,” Obi told Sports247. “I am dedicating this to my coach Mr. Danny Nazzal, the founder of the club. He really did and still doing a lot for the team. He takes us everywhere with him. He wants us to play. He likes telling us to play and run. And most times even when we didn’t come to training he likes pushing us to come to training. I dedicate this to him and I appreciate.”
When asked if Dannaz FC have what it takes to eventually win the Fusion Football Championship, Obi said: “Yes. I know that we are going to make it, to be top of the league.”
With the win over Broad City FC, Dannaz are top of the league standings on 17 points after seven matches, one point ahead of FC Bethel Int’l who are in second position.
