FCT Football Association has urged the 18 Abuja based coaches sponsored on coaching course to remain focus, and be good ambassador of the Nations capital.
Chairman of the Association, Aba Mukhtar Mohammed made this known through secretary general, Haruna Usman Ilerika saying the Association sees it as a way of encouraging the coaches urging them not to lose focus on why they enrol for the course which will help to add another feather to their ranks.
He also told them to study hard so as to come out with high grades and impart the knowledge on the young talented grassroots players across the state.
He urged the coaches to do away with anything that is capable of distracting their attention as they resumed the basic course offered by the National Institute for Sports (NIS) in Abuja.
The FCT FA have paid for the registration as well as tuition of all 18 coaches, who have been drawn from all the area councils of the Federal Capital Territory.
One of the lucky beneficiaries of this full scholarship, Justina Ochai, described it as a lifetime opportunity.
“Like most of my colleagues on this scholarship, this is a big breakthrough for me as I now have a chance to begin a coaching career,” she saluted.
“On behalf of my other colleagues, I wish to thank the chairman and the board of the FCT FA for this opportunity.
“We have all been challenged to make the most of it by not only bagging certificates, but also going on to use the knowledge gained from the course to impact on our immediate community.”
The course which started in October will run till December 2019.
