The Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, is agog with activities as the Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020 is set to take place at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja from Friday October 30 to November 14, 2020.
All the twenty two participating teams (12 men and 10 female teams) arrived the Nation’s capital on Friday and hostilities will begin bright and early on Saturday morning, October 31, 2020.
Secretary General of the Handball Federation of Nigeria (HFN) Alhaji Maigidansanma Mohammed, while welcoming the teams who have arrived for the league, stated that all there would be documentation for all the teams at the HFN Office in Velodrome of the MKO Abiola National Stadium at 3pm on Fridayand all teams are expected to come for their documentation.
There would also be a technical meeting which includes all the officials of the teams, the match officials and members of the technical committee of the HFN at the Velodrome at 7pm on Friday.
President of the Handball Federation of Nigeria Mr. Samuel Ocheho, who also welcomed the team urged players and officials to comply with the rules and regulations of the competition and be good ambassadors of the Nigeria Handball family.

In the women category, Adorable Angels, who won the National Division One Champions and Benue Queens are the newly promoted teams as the they replace Abia Valiants of Umuahia and Owena Queens of Akure who were relegated to the National Division 1 while Delta Force and Confluence Stars are the new boys in the elite division as they replace Prisons Key Boys of Nigeria prisons and Owena Kings of Akure who were relegated to the lower division.
The Prudent Energy Handball Premier League 2020, unlike previous years when it’s in two phases, would be just one competition wherein the league winners for the men and women category would emerge after an intense round robin games amongst the teams.
