FC ONE Rockets of Abat, Onna, Akwa Ibom State defeated Joy Cometh FC of Lagos by a lone goal and dedicated the victory to their Proprietor, Rt. Hon. Nse Essien, as a (belated) birthday gift.
The Proprietor of FC ONE Rockets, who is the Monarch of the Indomitable Empire: a quintessential Lawmaker, socially active philanthropist and people oriented politician, celebrated his 2021 birthday, on Tuesday, March 23, 2021 and was a Special Guest at the match.
The Indomitable Ambassadors played host to the Church-sponsored lads from Lagos, in one of the Week 9 fixtures of the 2020/2021 Nigeria National League (NNL) at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, earlier today.
The match had a barren first half due to series of wasted chances by the home side, with top attacker, Godbless Kuote, the core culprit. The Indomitable Ambassadors took just two (2) goal kicks in the first stanza, to capture their ball possessive and dominance nature.
The only goal that separated the two (2) sides and earned maximum points for the home side, came on the hour mark, when nearly introduced Haruna Hadi, playing his first match in the colors of FC ONE Rockets, curled beautifully into the net, from 32 meters after latching on a well dressed Abbel Abbah’s lay up pass.
The Indomitable Ambassadors would have scored more goals, if the attackers were potent, precise and clinical in front of the goal. However, with the victory over Joy Cometh FC of Lagos, FC ONE Rockets have garnered 12points from 8 matches and have scored in all their NNL matches.
The Onna lads will travel to Ogbomosho to face Crown FC in their next 2020/2021 NNL fixture on Sunday, March 28, 2021.
