FC ONE Rocket of Abat, Onna, Akwa Ibom State, will have their first taste of action at the Eket Stadium with a friendly encounter against Next Generation FC of Yenagoa, Bayelsa State on Friday.
The match, which kicks off at four o’clock in the afternoon, is part of FC ONE Rocket’s preparation for the upcoming Nigeria National League (NNL) season.
The Indomitables have been training since resumption on December 1, 2022, and have played some friendly matches, most recently with fellow NNL campaigners, Ibom Youth FC, a match that ended 2-1 in favour of the rockets.
Friday’s friendly will give the technical crew further insights into the squad as old and new players jostle for places ahead of the 2022/2023 NNL season.
Meanwhile, General Manager of FC ONE Rocket, Mr Ubong Essien, has called on lovers of football – in and around Eket – to turn out and witness good football at the Eket Stadium tomorrow for free.
The newly-constructed Eket Stadium by the Governor Udom Emmanuel – led Akwa Ibom State Government, is set to serve as home ground for FC ONE Rocket in the coming season.
