Enewarikpemi Amietimi, the captain and central back of FC Bethel Sporting, shared his positive impressions about the ongoing Amusa Community Championship tournament, highlighting the competitive spirit and energy exhibited by participating teams.
In a recent interview with Sports247, Amietimi described the tournament as “nice” with competitive games, emphasizing the energy and fighting spirit displayed by each team.
“Every team is challenging for the tournament, and it’s a nice game. I love the energy and fighting spirit the teams are bringing; the tournament has been so cool,” he expressed.
Amietimi views the Amusa Community Championship as a scouting program, expressing his expectation that strong performances from players could lead to selection opportunities to further their football careers.
“I expect that we do well, and a lot of us will be selected so that we can go elsewhere to further our football career,” he stated.

Having joined FC Bethel earlier this year, Amietimi had previously played for various teams in Bayelsa State.
His football prowess and skills caught the attention of the academy, and he was brought in by his former manager.
Before FC Bethel’s semi-final match against Cats FC, Amietimi expressed his anticipation for continued success. “I am expecting me and my teammates to work harder than yesterday and win again.
We played two matches yesterday and did very well. So, we are still bringing that same energy today to win,” he declared.
Despite the captain’s optimism, FC Bethel lost 4-2 to Cats FC in a penalty shootout during the semi-finals.
The team will now face Elite Stars in the third-place match, providing another opportunity for Amietimi and his teammates to showcase their skills and determination in the Amusa Community Championship.
