The transfer represents a pivotal moment in Anjorin’s career. Seeking more playing time and an opportunity to prove himself, Anjorin’s move to Empoli is seen as a strategic step towards gaining valuable experience in one of Europe’s top leagues. Although specific terms of the deal remain undisclosed, the transfer is set to provide him with a fresh challenge and a chance to further his development.
Anjorin’s journey with Chelsea began as a schoolboy, and he quickly ascended through the youth ranks. His professional debut came in a Carabao Cup match against Grimsby Town in September 2019. The same season, he made his Premier League debut, featuring briefly in a match against Everton.
The following season saw Anjorin add to his appearances with Chelsea in the Emirates FA Cup and the Champions League, totaling five first-team appearances. His career has included loan spells at Lokomotiv Moscow, Huddersfield Town, and Portsmouth, where he made 40 appearances and scored six goals.
At Empoli, Anjorin will join Nigerian defender Emmanuel Ekong, son of retired international Prince Ikpe Ekong, and Super Eagles teammate Tyronne Ebuehi. This new environment is expected to offer Anjorin the regular playing time he seeks and an opportunity to showcase his skills in Italy’s competitive Serie A.
We wish Faustino Anjorin success as he embarks on this exciting new chapter at Empoli!
