On Sunday, Dannaz FC came from a goal down to defeat DRV FC 2-1 in week 5 of the 2021 Fusion Football Championship to go top of the table.
After going behind to a Moses Odom strike in opening minutes of the encounter, Dannaz FC equalised through Samson Kayode in the 15th minute before going on to snatch the winner in the second half through substitute Obakimi Joshua.
In what is his first game in charge of Dannaz after his appointment as club Technical Director earlier in the month, Fatai Akande reacted to the victory. He told Sports247:
“I think we reacted well after going behind. We conceded a sloppy goal but we quickly realized it and picked up from there.
“Among the very good things I have seen of the players is that they are able to react. It’s one thing to take the lead, it’s another to come from behind and get the win. It is a very good sign that they can react when they are down. And after that you can see that they got into the game creating plenty chances.
“These are developing players. Much work is to be done with them. But overall I think I’m pleased with what they’ve done so far.” Akande added.
