After picking just one point from their first three group B matches in the Creative Championship Cup, Dannaz FC defeated Valiant FC 3-1 on Friday. Nonetheless, Dannaz finished in 4th place in group B and are out of the competition.
Dannaz FC Technical Director, Fatai Akande felt there were positives to take from his side’s defeat of Valiant FC, despite failure to progress to the next round of the competition. He told Sports247:
“The win is a positive. Like I’ll always say it is a developmental game. The win is good for the boys’ mentality. The only thing I’m not too happy about is not keeping a clean sheet. Because that is very important. But at least we were able to take a step forward. Hopefully, we can build on it.”
Speaking of his side’s game plan against Valiant FC, Akande said:” Now we have a very good idea of our opponents and how we want to play. We have scored in every game and that is a positive for me.
“One very important thing is to keep clean sheets. That is why I’m not overly pleased. It is for the players to see the progressions they have made and how they want to build on it.”
