Head coach of the women’s national soccer team, Super Falcons, coach Thomas Dennerby has revealed that he will ensure in giving everything to make his team keep getting better, following yesterday’s 2-1 loss to Canada.
Nigeria women’s team lost for the first time to Canada, bowing 2-1 to the North Americans at Pinatar Arena yesterday in a friendly.
Prior to the match, the Africans boasted of an unbeaten record against the Canadians – a 3-3 draw in 1995 and a 1-0 win in 2011.
Following the match, Dennerby in a chat with Sports247 that he remains confident his side will go all the way in France during the matches.
“We are going to win every game, we will try to do our very best every minute when we are on the field”.
“But for me to feel that we have a successful tournament, we must see when we play the game, the teams we are closer to in the world stage before I came in and now”.
Desire Oparanozie’s first-half goal was not enough to help the Super Falcons avoid defeat to Kenneth Heiner-Moller’s team no thanks to second-half strikes from Janine Beckie and Sophie Schmidt.
