The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has stated that men’s and women’s U20 national teams will resume their preparation ahead of their respective international competitions this week.
The Flying Eagles who finished Third in the just-concluded CAF U20 African Nations Cup will commence their training for the FIFA U20 World Cup while the Falconets, the women’s U20 national team will start preparation for the WAFU U20 Championship to be hosted by Ghana in May.
Speaking ahead of the camping, the NFF General Secretary, Sanusi Mohammed in a chat with BSN Sports confirmed that the two national teams will resume camping this week to commence their training for good outings.
“I can confirm to you that the two national teams will resume camping this week. Sanusi told BSN Sports on Sunday.
“We are waiting for the coaches to submit their programmes which will help us to know and put certain things in place ahead of their resumption.
“We will give them all the necessary support and I believe they will do the country proud. Flying Eagles who have been in camp for so long over time have enjoyed good preparation and will also be taken good care of. Once the coaches submit their programs, we are good to go.
In WAFU women’s competition, Nigeria is placed in the same with the host, Ghana, Burkina Faso, and Ivory Coast.
The tournament will take place from May 20 to June 02, 2023, in Ghana.
FIFA U20 World Cup held between Saturday, May 20 to Sunday, June 11, 2023. Indonesia will no longer host the U20 World Cup as the world await FIFA to announce the new host.
