Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers has described Kelechi Iheanacho’s stunner against Burnley as a ‘brilliant goal’.
Iheanacho volleyed in a sublime equaliser after an over-the-top pass from Wilfred Ndidi to cancel out Burnley’s opener in their Premier League clash on Wednesday night.
Burnley had taken an early lead through Matej Vydra but Iheanacho’s 33rd-minute strike earned injury-hit Leicester a 1-1 draw.
In his post-match press conference, Rodgers said: “It was a brilliant goal. It was a good move, we kept the ball well, and then Wilf [Ndidi] makes a great pass. It’s good movement from the two strikers, and then fabulous technique.”
With the Foxes searching for a winner, Iheanacho was substituted for Marc Albrighton in the 66th minute.
Explaining the harsh substitution, Rodgers said: “It was just tactical. At the beginning of the second half, we were starting to get exposed on the sides, and for that, we needed to make the change to 4-3-3.”
