Tigress star Kalu Ezine has declared that there is more to come from the team following a nail biting 57:56 points win over Greece today.
Nigeria became the first African country to qualify for the quarter finals of any FIBA women’s World Cup after defeating Greece by 57 points to 56.
Despite D’Tigress 15 to 7 points lead early in the game, the Greeks clawed their way back into reckoning to tie the contest at 15 points heading into the 2nd quarter.
“It was a close one for us against the Greeks who came out with full force.
“We attacked them at tail end and rectified some of the mistakes made at the turnover. We deserved to go through,” the excited Kalu Ezine said in a chat with Sports247.ng.
“I don’t think we have played to our full potentials. Quarter final ticket is already in the bag. We still have more in our sleeves.”
Ezinne and Evelyn Akhator led the D’Tigress scorers chart with 14 points while Promise Amukarama weighed in with 13 points.
