UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador and Nigeria’s ex international,Nwankwo Kanu has acknowledged the support he received last year notably on the successful surgeries of the wards in kanu’s heart foundation which seeks to provide help for the victims of heart problems which he narrowly escaped cutting short his illustrious career.
In his new year’s message, sports247.ng testifies, Kanu thanked everyone especially on the demise of the ward in his foundation, he wrote ” it has been a tough year but we are here, am very happy with the support the foundation has received, to all contributors and sponsors, we say thank you and also to the lives that were saved, this means so much to me”.
Kanu won a UEFA Champions League medal, a UEFA Cup medal, three FA Cup Winners Medals and two African Player of the Year awards among others is on the course to save children with heart problems and has vowed to keep up with the good work.
He is one of few players to have won the Premier League, FA Cup, Champions League, UEFA Cup and an Olympic Gold Medal and made the third-most substitute appearances in Premier League history, regarded as one of the best players in African football history.
