“The pandemic affected us last year but the cup is back this year and we all are happy to play in this old tournament with a lot of history and we want to go far in it,” were the words of Coach Babatunde Bello, team manager of Emmydinho FC.
Babatunde responded to the draws of the Lagos State FA Cup and explained that the team has huge targets insight and the fans should expect a lot from them.
“It’s a good development to keep the clubs in Lagos busy. Expect a lot from us, our target is the semi-final and you need to believe that we will get there,” he said. “We have prepared and worked so hard for us to set such a target and we want to achieve it. If we go beyond our target that’s fantastic but we’re focused on the task at hand right now,” Mr. Babatunde added.
He further advised players and staff alike of clubs to maintain discipline in the course of the competition as it’s a very necessary requirement for professionals.
“It’s all about discipline for the players and staffs. One must be disciplined in everything in life, so professional players need to be disciplined. The officials as well need to be disciplined, talk to their players and get the best out of them. It’s football, you win some and lose some but one needs to be calm and work towards the next game,” Mr. Babatunde said.
