Exclusive: “We will Take Giant Steps Towards Development Of Women Football In The State” – Princess Olayinka Vows Total Commitment After Ogun State Election Victory

Newly elected Ogun State Football Association Board member, Princess Olayinka has given the populace of the state and avid sports lovers what to expect in the new administration after revealing that the re-elected executive will give paramount attention towards developing women football and as such, much priority will be committed to the project.

Princess Olayinka who won a total of 23 votes out of possible 23 unopposed as a returning board member allayed that there’s a huge plan to pick together the falling pieces of projects that hasn’t been uncompleted and part of it is the female football as stated by her principal, Chairman Alhj. Majekodunmi following the election victory as they prepare to host the upcoming National Sports Festival.

“Getting the opportunity to serve is a privilege and to win means that the people trust in the board hence the will for continuity and we will do everything to make sure that their faith in us is repaid in terms of further developments within the state, grassroots programs and events, female sports development, nothing as little as a piece will be left out,” Princess Olaynka posited in an exclusive interview with Sports247.ng.

“We want to give attention to women football in the state, there will be programs, trials, scouting tournaments because we have a handful of talented women footballers, I have seen them and now, we will give them that platform to be seen, where they can show their potentials as we nurture and help them develop further.”

“The new administration will keep pushing, we want to have a female football team with the name ‘Gateway Queens’ ahead of the national sports festival. We have abundance of talents and wherever they are, now is the time for them, no one will be left behind,” she assured.
