Among the numerous celebratory events, one in particular has captured the public’s attention: the Ogiame Atuwatse III Coronation Veteran Novelty Football Match.
The match, set to take place at 2 pm on Saturday, August 17, 2024, at Nana College, Warri, promises to be a memorable event. It will feature legends from the Nigerian National Team, the Super Eagles, facing off against a spirited team composed of the Itsekiri National Youth Council (INYC) and Chiefs.

Security measures have been heightened in preparation for the event. Ogbe Eke, the Executive Assistant on Security to the Delta State Governor and Deputy Captain of Team INYC/Chiefs, emphasized the importance of maintaining order during the match.
“We have collaborated with the Nigerian Army, Navy, Police, and community security to position personnel strategically within and around the venue at Nana College,” Eke assured. He also warned that there would be zero tolerance for troublemakers.
