Former Nigerian International, Seyi Olofinjana has resigned from his role as Sporting Director of Switzerland top side, Grasshopper Club Zürich.
The former Super Eagles player was appointed as the Sporting Director on May 26th 2021, after leaving his role as loans manager at Wolverhampton Wanderers in the English Premier League.
News broke out that the Director has been sacked, however a source close to the former director has revealed that Seyi Olofinjana resigned after discussion with the board due to certain reasons.
The source who chose to remain anonymous said, “after speaking with him, he made me know that he wasn’t sacked but he resigned due to some interference hindering his working environment to get things done and some detrimental comments which did not sit well with him.”
“It’s very important that people get the right picture and not the wrong picture of him being sacked, but him, having the guts to stand up for himself and resign in such a situation and environment,” he added.
