2016 CHAN Eagles striker, Tunde Adeniji has gifted his former side, Sunshine Stars a new set of training materials.
Adeniji handed the team some set of bibs, dozens of balls, pairs of hoses, and shin guides through his brother Kolade, shortly after Wednesday’s morning session at the Ondo State Sports Complex Akure.
In a chat with Sunshine Stars’ Media, Adeniji who recently inked a deal with Al-Fayha FC, Saudi Arabia said the gesture is in appreciation of the platform the Owena Whales provided him as a young player.
The academy alumnus stated: “this gift is just a little way of saying thank you to Sunshine Stars for the opportunity given to me here as a young player. I am grateful to the Club.
“Hopefully this will not be my last time to contribute and give back to our darling team. I wish Sunshine Stars all the best in this ongoing season and beyond.”
Both coach Gbenga Ogunbote and team manager, Tokunbo Akinyelure who officially received the items for the Club, expressed gratitude to Adeniji for the gifts and wished him greater heights in his career.
Adeniji was recruited from the Okitipupa grassroots team, OK Soccer into the Ondo State-owned academy where he rose through the ranks to emerge as a hitman for Sunshine Stars FC before sojourning abroad at the conclusion of Rwanda CHAN 2016.
