Everton Football Club has announced the signing of Nigerian international forward Toni Payne from Spanish side Sevilla.

The 29-year-old joins the Toffees’ women’s team, marking the first summer signing for manager Brian Sorensen’s side.
Payne, born in Alabama, USA, has an impressive international career with 21 caps for Nigeria.
Toni Payne was part of the Super Falcons squad that competed in the 2023 World Cup in Australia and New Zealand, where Nigeria narrowly lost to England in the round of 16. Before her switch to Nigeria, Payne represented the United States at the youth international level.
During her six-year stint in Spain, Payne featured in all 30 of Sevilla’s league fixtures last season, scoring six goals. Her experience in the Spanish top-flight league brings a wealth of talent to Everton.
