Nigeria’s standout talent at the World Table Tennis Championships in Durban, Taiwo Mati,
has caught the attention of several top European clubs.

Despite currently competing in Portugal’s second-division league, Mati has garnered
significant interest from prestigious teams in Spain and Poland, all eager to secure his
signature.
The promising Nigerian talent, Taiwo Mati has disclosed that he has yet to finalize his choice of club to join, emphasizing the importance of seeking advice before reaching a decision.
“After receiving offers from three clubs in Spain and Poland during my time in Durban, they have expressed interest in having me on their roster for the upcoming season. However, I am currently in the process of considering my options and consulting with relevant parties before making a definitive choice.”
“I am still with my Portuguese club after we failed to gain promotion to the first division last season. I am still pondering on the offers looking for the one that will help me improve my game.
“Also, some of Nigeria’s top players are also helping out to look for good clubs for me
because my performance in South Africa has attracted a lot of interest.
“Let us keep our fingers crossed and hope for the best before the season starts in
September,” he told the Nation.
