Etafia spoke in an interview, “It’s a little bit difficult, and he is the one that needs to make a decision. I mean, his form has been good on the club side. For the national team, everyone wants to play. The things that happened to him are just so sad. If you’re not in his shoes, you would not really understand. I know it’s just a sad moment for him. He needs to soldier on and try to move forward and see how he gets back to doing what he does best: representing the club side very well and the national team.”
He continued, “With Nigeria having a very important game to play, I think we really need him in a good state of mind. I believe he needs to represent Nigeria because we need to win the two games to qualify in the end and have at least a chance to qualify for the World Cup, which is the ultimate goal.”
Etafia’s remarks stresses the critical role that Nwabali’s resilience and performance will play in Nigeria’s upcoming qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Fans and officials alike are hopeful that, despite his personal challenges, Nwabali will continue to inspire confidence on the pitch.
