Super Eagles’ coach, Eric Sekou Chelle has opted to give credit for Friday’s 2-0 spanking of Rwanda to his players, and confessed that he was happy with the way they made his gameplan work, Sports247 reports.
Speaking in the aftermath of the pulsating encounter in Kigali, the Franco-Malian tactician admitted it was an exciting match and gave plaudits to both sides for making it very memorable.
Chelle added, “It was a difficult game, because Rwanda has a great team and I know the coach is good. We made it a great game, too. I’m so happy, I’m proud of my players, and I’m happy for all Nigerian people.”
The former handler of Mali’s national team and SC Oran football club of Algeria also stated delight with how the Eagles’ players were able to quickly fit into his preferred tactics, despite having only a couple of days together in camp and on the training pitch.
“I’m happy for my guys. We worked a lot during one week … two training sessions on the pitch and lots of video sessions.
Also, a lot of information from my players. So, we had a gameplan, and the players made the game great. For me, I think the victory was normal,” Chelle retorted.
