EPL: Iwobi Vows To Harm Man United Again As Fulham Visits Old Trafford For Season Opener

Super Eagles Midfielder, Alex Iwobi is aiming to hurt Manchester United again as Fulham visits Old Trafford for the kick off of the 2024/2025 English Premier League on Friday ( Today), Sports247 reports.

Alex Iwobi scored a 97th minute winner against Manchester United at Old Trafford in February, delivering the maximum points in the famous 2-1 over Erik Ten Hag’s team.

The Nigerian forward is looking forward to another great night at Old Trafford, by providing assists for his teammates to convert if he can’t score against Manchester United in the season opener scheduled for 8 pm tonight.

“If I can’t score at least, I’m able to create chances for my teammates, and Smith Rowe and Adama Traore are going to put those chances away. It’s not just them—there are so many goal threats in this team,” Iwobi told Fulham website.

He also talked about how his former teammate at Arsenal is settling down to Fulham and bank on Smith Rowes as Fulham FC seeks three points against Manchester United.

“I played with Emile in the past; I know what kind of runs and qualities he can bring to the team. I’ve made him feel welcome—he’s scored two in two now—hopefully, he can make it three in three against United.”

However, Manchester United will be hoping for a better home record this season, having suffered six losses 19 games at Old Trafford last season with Alex winner counts for one of them, so avoiding a back to back defeat to Fulham will be high on their mind as they will be more motivated to re-write the wrongs of last season.

Their super head to head record against Fulham , just 3 losses in 33 meetings tilt the balance of the game towards Manchester but Fulham might be a tough nut to crack as (Marco Silva, Fulham’s coach) has not lost any of his nine season openers, but the fact that Manchester has lost 3 of their last four home matches to away teams in the EPL.

Alex Iwobi and fellow Super Eagles teammate, Calvin Bassey are expected to play a huge role tonight if Fulham are to leave the Old Trafford unharm as the 2024/2025 English Premier League gets under way tonight
