Despite suffering a shocking two-nil home defeat to relegation battling Dakkada F.C in the matchday 37 fixture of the 2021/2022 season of the Nigeria Professional Football League in Aba on Sunday evening, the team’s Captain Austin Oladapo and his teammates still got a big result to rejoice on.
It was a special day for Austin Oladapo who proposed to his longtime girlfriend, Ogbanuko Pauline before the kickoff at the Enyimba yesterday, asking her to marry him, to which his girlfriend happily responded with a big yes.
Players from both teams joined the 26-year-old midfielder in celebration of the special occasion, leaving the fans with beautiful memories to take home despite the shocking loss.
In a post on the player’s Facebook page yesterday, Austin thanked his now fiancé for saying yes to him, while announcing August 12th as their wedding day.
“I’ve never had a moment’s doubt about choosing this part with you. I love you so much. I believe in you completely. You are my dearest one. My reason for life thanks for saying yes to me August 12th keep the date,” he posted.
Enyimba will play second-placed Plateau United away in the final matchday fixture for the 2021/2022 NPFL season while Dakkada F.C must do everything within their capacity to win their last match of the season to have any hope of surviving relegation when they host Sunshine Stars of Akure on Sunday.
