Enyimba International Deserves Their Stadium Ban

In an interview on Nigeria Info Port Harcourt, NPFL CEO Davidson Owumi stated that the league body only makes decisions based on referees’ and match commissioners’ reports.

He emphasized that Enyimba is a repeat offender, deserving of their stadium ban.

In contrast, Rangers is a first-time offender. Owumi argued that it’s unfair to punish the instigator and the victim equally, using the analogy of Jesus Christ’s crucifixion.

He questioned how he contributed to the 0-0 result and influenced the match commissioner’s report, highlighting that Enyimba was awarded three points, which they cannot deny. Despite their appeal, the NFF subsequently revoked the points.

Meanwhile, Enyimba’s next away game on May 16 against struggling Sporting Lagos will be one of the two live broadcasts, along with Bayelsa United’s match, as they fight to avoid relegation and secure continental tickets against Shooting Stars.
