Murphy Ndukwu scored the winning goal for Enyimba, the reigning champions of the Nigeria Premier League, in the 24th minute.
In a tweet from the Naija Super 8 Twitter handle, Finidi expressed his satisfaction with the victory while acknowledging the challenging nature of the match. He stated, “We knew it would be difficult. Happy we won but not happy with the way we played, especially in the second half. Overall we had chances to score a second goal, but I am not happy about the play. We were lucky they didn’t get an equalizer.”
Enyimba’s win secured their spot as the representative for the South-East Zone in the upcoming Naija Super Eight finals, scheduled to take place in Lagos. Joining them in the competition will be Lobi Stars, Remo Stars, and Yobe Stars, who have also qualified.

Remo Stars exhibited a dominant performance, defeating Shooting Stars 3-0, while Yobe Stars secured their qualification by overcoming Gombe Stars with a 2-1 victory.
The remaining teams will have an opportunity to secure their places in the Super Eight tournament on Sunday. The highly anticipated Naija Super Eight tournament will be held at the prestigious Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, from July 7 to July 16.

With strong competition expected from Lobi Stars, Remo Stars, Yobe Stars, and the yet-to-be-determined teams, fans can anticipate an exciting and fiercely contested tournament in Lagos next month.
