In a bid to ensure Judoka Enku Ekuta gets maximum preparation ahead of the Tokyo 2021 Olympics, Accugas Limited, a Savannah Energy Company, sponsors of the National Champion have made it possible for her to attend the Tashkent Grand Slam 2021 in Uzbekistan.
Enku, who recently qualified for the games, has since settled in Uzbekistan and will take to the mats on Saturday 6th March 2021 against Agata Ozdoba-Blach of Poland in the -63kg.
She remains Nigeria’s only Judoka to have qualified for the games and will hope to get more exposure outside Africa having conquered the zone.
The Tashkent Grand Slam 2021 will see 33 Judokas slug it out to be on the podium with countries like Poland, Serbia, Japan, Brazil, Venezuela, Russia, Italy, Spain, Hungary to mention a few.
