Paralympic bronze medallist Eniola Bolaji has added another prestigious gold medal to her collection, winning at the 2025 Spanish Para Badminton International II in Vitoria.
This victory extends her unbeaten international streak to an incredible 11 out of 11 tournaments.
The multiple African champion dominated the women’s singles SL3 final, defeating Ukraine’s Oksana Kozyba in straight sets 2-0 (21-15, 21-15).
Bolaji’s journey to the top was nothing short of spectacular. She breezed through the group stage, defeating Brazil’s Kauana Michelson Beckenka 2-0 (21-15, 21-2) and France’s Caroline Bergeron 2-0 (21-7, 21-8).
In the quarterfinals, she overpowered Australia’s Celine Vinot 2-0 (21-8, 21-12) before putting on a dominant display in the semifinals, where she crushed India’s Neeraj 2-0 (21-12, 21-6) to book her place in the final.
The President of the Badminton Federation of Nigeria, Francis Orbih, praised Bolaji’s remarkable achievement, noting that this gold is her second in just two months. He highlighted the federation’s continued investment in para badminton and its commitment to ensuring more Nigerian athletes qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics and Paralympics.
Orbih also thanked the National Sports Commission for its support, emphasizing that their intervention is helping to drive the growth of para sports in Nigeria.
