Ilorin-based engineer and Committed soccer buff, has reiterated his determination to revamp and revitalize football from the grassroots in the state if elected as FA Chairman in the June Election.
Engr. Ahmed Olaide who is the CEO of Cyteck Engineering Construction and technology stated this while featuring on the Midland FM sports program, fast track.
Engr. Ahmed explained that grassroots football is dead in the state, noting, there is no direction or cardinal policy as a blueprint geared towards moving the game to the enviable height has been abandoned.
According to Engr. Ahmed, “it’s unfortunate that grassroots football is not working anymore in the state. talents abound everywhere in all the 16 local government areas, but wasting away as there is no platform to nurture them to stardom”
passion and flair to grow the game of football from the grassroots is one of the major reasons I’m vying for the Kwara FA exotic seat, and also intend to assist NFF to curb the menace of age cheat through proper planning and execution of developmental football programs from all the 6 local government areas.”
He, however, solicited the unflinching of all and sundry, particularly stakeholders, to rally around him in his desire to transform the game of football in the state.
