However, Delta State-based FIFA Licensed agent Endurance Ogbemudia believes it’s pertinent to address the issue of overdue payables if the League governing body truly intends to revamp and change the NPFL for good.
While he agrees that the desired change will not happen overnight, Mr. Ogbemudia opined that the League will go smoothly and seamlessly if critical issues like indebtedness to players become a thing of the past.
He said, “It’s about time for another season, it excites everyone and we are looking forward to it, but I’m appealing to Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye and his team to go tough on indebted teams”.
“Indebtedness will lead to other challenges, Some clubs have already made it a point of duty not to fulfil contractual obligations, but I am urging this board to interpret and enforce the laws of indebtedness on erring teams”.

“This is 2023, even if there is a need to delay payment of salaries or or any other fees due to players, let everyone involved be convinced that attempts are being made to sort it”
Mr. Endurance Ogbemudia harped also on the need for the NPFL governing body to interface with stakeholders in this regard, in order for all parties to achieve a common goal of taking the league to a bigger level.
He stressed that teams that owe players are ill winds that blow the league no good, and in line with the recent NPFL release of clubs, these clubs should not be allowed to participate in the coming season.
