The general manager of Emrald FC of Agege, John Hamilton has declared emphatically that his team will be the squad to watch and fear in this year’s edition of Lagos State FA Cup; as he says they will entertain everyone en route to winning the trophy.
Although Emrald are less than a year old, having been launched late 2024 at a posh ceremony in an Ikeja hotel, and they compete in the third-tier of Nigerian football, Hamilton stressed that they are aiming at the trophy with total determination.

He expatiated that the youthful club will be all out to achieve three targets when the competition begins next weekend in various venues across the Lagos metropolis, but added that the ultimate for them is to end the race as champions.
Hamilton outlined that their first target is to entertain fans, second is to showcase the talents of their players and third is to win the trophy ahead of the other over 70 registered teams.
The ebullient football administrator and promoter, however, stressed that the priority for the team is not just to exhibit players and thrill spectators, but to clinch the coveted trophy at the end of the contest, which he believes his Nationwide League One (NLO) side is capable of achieving.
Hamilton retorted without mincing words: “You don’t just go into a competition only to showcase your players. Of course, you have to showcase your players, but the major aspect of the competition is to win it. We are determined to win,” Hamilton submitted.
