The past season saw Ekong appear 15 times in Serie A and score in both of his Coppa Italia starts. Additionally, he gained valuable experience during a loan spell at NK Istra in Croatia, where he enjoyed regular playing time in the top flight.

Speaking about the move, Malmö FF’s sporting director, Daniel Andersson, expressed excitement: “Emmanuel is an exciting, young player with qualities we haven’t had in the squad before. His speed and directness are key strengths, and he has developed well during his time in Croatia and Italy. We’re thrilled he’s joining us at our training camp in Spain.”

Ekong, equally enthusiastic, shared his thoughts: “I’ve been looking forward to this moment. Malmö FF’s ambitions align perfectly with my goals, and I’m eager to contribute. I’m fast, technical, and love to challenge defenders. I hope to score points and help the team win titles. Everyone I’ve spoken to speaks highly of the club, and I can’t wait to play in front of passionate supporters.”

Ekong will immediately join the team in Marbella for his first training session, signaling the start of an exciting new chapter in his career.
