Emerald FC Boss Laments Inadequate Sports Facilities In Lagos, States Team’s Mission Ahead Of 2025 Lagos FA Cup Kick Off 

The team manager of Emerald Football Club John Hamilton has lamented the inadequate Stadium facilities in Lagos State and states his team’s mission as the 2025 Lagos FA set to begin, Sports247 reports.

Emerald FC, a Nigeria Nationwide League One, NLO Side based in Agege, will be playing in the 2025 Lagos State Football Association Cup, scheduled to begin on January 22nd, 2025.

In a chat with Sports 247 at the venue of the draw held at the FA secretariat on Wednesday, John Hamilton bare his mind on sports development in Lagos State and lamented the absence of an adequate functional stadium in the State.

Hamilton urged the government to put in place a functional stadium in every local government of the state to aid rapid sports development as it will help to reduce the cost of running spots clubs.

” I won’t keep quiet until we see a functional stadium in Lagos State. I want to urge the government to prioritise sports development by providing a functional stadium in every local government of the state as it will reduce the running cost of the club and lessen the burden of club owners”.

” For example our club is based in Agege, Imagine the extra cost of transporting the team to another facility, because the Agege Stadium is not functional which is nearer to us.” Hamilton stated.

However, the soft spoken manager said his team will be coming all out with a mindset of winning the 2025 Lagos State FA Cup competition as they have a lot of talented players in their ranks who are determined to display what they have.

 

” We don’t just go to competition to showcase players alone, of course, you show case your players but the major aspect of participating in a competition for us is to win it and we have talented boys who are determined to show case their talents and our squad is a strong squad who is determined to win” , Hamilton told Sports247.

 

 

 

A total of 80 men football teams and four women football teams will be playing in this year’s edition of the FA Cup.

 

 

28 rookie teams will kick off the competition in the first preliminary round as Legacy Pitch and the New Maracana Stadium will host the matches starting from January 22nd, 2025.
