The newly-appointed head coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Club, Bilal Sousdi has won his first competitive friendly match against Dannaz Football Club.
Sousdi expressed satisfaction with his team’s victory over Dannaz FC in a recent friendly match played at Eagles club sports center, Surulere, Lagos.
Prince Kazeem Eletu senior team came from behind to defeat Dannaz 3-1 in a tough friendly match watched by an appreciable crowd.
Sousdi who was elated with the victory told our correspondent that having watched their opponent’s style of play in the first half, he quickly changed their formation which helped them to penetrate opponents defence in the second half.
“We won our opponents because I changed my formation in the second half. I observed that our opponents were playing from the midfield and they choked the midfield. When we resumed from the second half, I came out with another new formation which pave way for our victory,” he said.
Sousdi confessed that their opponents are equally good and played better but noted that they were technically better to have won the pulsating tie.
In his own reaction, Dannaz coach, Micheal Sossou said the game was tough but noted that their opponents were better in the second half. He said his boys created scoring chances but only one converted which was not good enough to win their opponents.
“We could not take our chances and cost us defeat. Eletu are a good team. They played well and converted their chances at the end of the day. What I learned from the game was that a team should take their chances when it comes which we have not done to win this game,” he said.
Kazeem Moshood quickly scored for Dannaz to take an early lead. Eletu who are still recruiting new players ahead of the new season responded through Ibrahim Bature in the 41st minutes to end the first half one goal apiece.
Both teams gave an account of themselves in the second half as Eletu began to pile pressure on their opponents. Their effort was rewarded as Daniel Mbonu and Akeem scored in the 81st and 93rd minutes to confirm their supremacy over their opponents.
