Coach of Prince Kazeem Eletu Football Academy, Oluwadamilola Idowu has explained why his boys lost 1-3 to Juventus Academy in a friendly match played at Agege Stadium, Lagos.
Idowu in a chat with our correspondent admitted that his team lost to a more experienced side but also commended his players for a good fight.
“I am satisfied with my team’s performance despite the defeat. we gave them a good fight unfortunately we could not get a desirable result. It is not a result that matters to me but the way my players respond to instructions on the field of play is very important to me,” he said.
Idowu also commended their opponents for their determination and commitment noted that both teams played good football but the better side carried the day.
“Like I said our opponents are an experienced team but I have learnt many lessons from the game which would help us in our subsequent friendlies, he said.
In his own comment, Juventus coach, Muhammed Yussuf said Eletu Academy are a good side but said his players were more determined in the second half which gave them the victory.
“We played highly a balanced and organised team. What worked for us was that we were able to capitalize on the tiredness or fatigue of Eletu players in the second half. We were struggling in the first half but our second half was much better to have won the game,” he said.
Bright Abraham opened the scoring in the early game before Idowu Babatunde cancelled the goal deficit in the first half.
The second half witnessed two goals which scored by Haddi Hassan to end the encounter 3-1 in favour of Juventus Academy
