Former Liverpool striker El Hadji Diouf has tipped hosts, Egypt to win the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Pharaohs are seeking to win the prestigious title for the first time since 2010, the last of their record seven victories.
However, Diouf did not totally ruled out the possibility of Nigeria winning the tournament for the fourth time.
“There are so many good teams that will be at the Nations Cup. Nigeria can win it just like any other country. It will be difficult with 24 teams playing,” the former African Footballer of the Year stated.
“I cannot say this team or that team will win this tournament but we know that whenever Egypt hosts the AFCON, they win it.”
This summer will see the first-ever 24-team Nations Cup, with Nigeria playing their first game on Saturday 22 June against Burundi, before facing Guinea and Madagascar.
