Eight Lagos Clubs are set to jostle for supremacy as the first edition of the EkoFootball NNL Preseason Football Tournament begins January 19, 2022, at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Surulere with the full backing of his Excellency, Lagos Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
The Director-General, Lagos State Sports Commission, Mr. Oluwatoyin Gafaar made this known in an exclusive interview at the Eko football NNL Preseason tournament media conference.

” The game is a continuation of Mr. Governor’s agenda in having everything inclusive especially sport, now that we have NNL coming soon and we have five representatives from Lagos state, it’s part of the support we need to do, and thanks to the Lagos football association who brought this initiative coming at the right time in preparing our teams for the task ahead”
” And with the support from the state especially from Mr. Governor, his Excellency, Babajide Sanwo-Olu on the development of sports facilities in Lagos, the expectation is so high from them because we’re expecting a high result from them too”
” So we need to do our own part by preparing them very well for the task and that is exactly what Lagos State Football Association are doing in preparing our team for the task ahead in getting them in shape so that we can have a prediction of what we should be expecting”. Mr. Gafaar also added.
” I hope that the outcome of this competition will make Lagos state better off, and we will just kick off right from the start to have a very good outing at the national level. He concluded.
All matches will be played at the Teslim be Balogun Stadium.
The NNL Clubs are Vandrezzer Fc, Ikorodu City, Sporting Lagos City, Joy Comet, and Otasolo. While the FA clubs are Smart City, G12, and Box2Box Fc.
The Semi-Finals hold on January 27 and the finals is on January 29.
