As it is often said that ” Life Goes On” eight days after their involvement in an auto crash along ikere-Ado road, players and officials of Ekiti United football club have landed in Enugu to play in one of the NNL week 8 matches scheduled for tomorrow (Wednesday)
The players who left Ado, the state capital at about 6 am today (Tuesday) did not get to their destination until 8 pm as they had stopped over a couple of times to eat.
Obviously tired, the players checked into their already booked hotel immediately afterward.
Secretary of the team, Ayodeji Olowolafe who thanked the state government for providing a coaster bus through the ministry of Education that conveyed the team to Enugu said the long trip was quite interesting and comfortable for the players and officials.
He assured that the process of getting a befitting vehicle for Ekiti United FC was underway.
The captain, Babatunde Bello attested to the fact that the bus provided by the state government made the trip one of the best for the team in recent time.
He assured the teeming football enthusiasts in Ekiti that the players would give their 100% to ensure a valuable point is picked in the midweek encounter.
Meanwhile, the duo of Beleive Imiete and Adewale Makanjuola who have both manned the goalposts for Ekiti United FC since the beginning of the NNL could not make the trip to Enugu.
While Makanjuola just recovered from the injury sustained against Vandrezzer FC in Lagos two weeks ago, Imiete was asked to have enough rest after following the impact of last Tuesday’s auto crash.
Aside from the goalkeeping department, virtually all the regular players made the trip for the week 8 match.
Giant Brilllars are going to be playing under tension as they have not won a single match out of seven matches.
The Enugu-based team had drawn five matches and lost two with 5 points to sit next to the bottom team on the league table.
Ekiti United will hopefully take advantage of the poor form of their host to improve on their current six points secured from the two victories recorded at home out of six matches.
Recall that the week 7 encounter between Ekiti United and Calabar Rovers was postponed due to Tuesday’s accident.
