The Chairman of the Ekiti State Sports Council, Dr. Isaac Ayodele has said that the State would explore the opportunities in Public-Private Partnership (PPP) to promote sports and the general well-being of youths in the State.
Ayodele who dropped this hint during a meeting with Sports Officers from the 16 Local Government Areas of the State, noted that, globally, Sports has become a huge money-spinner to the benefit of all stakeholders.
Ayodele explained that part of his mandate as Chairman of the State Sports Council is to develop Sports in the State and make the council financially viable and less dependent on the State Government.
He also disclosed that the State would also partner with Local Governments adding that no meaningful development could be achieved in the area of talent scouting in the grassroots without proper cooperation of Local Government Sports Officers.
“The Council will facilitate training and retraining for all relevant personnel adding that no stone would be left unturned towards making the Sports Council world-class”
“Training of Badminton coaches would commence next week. These coaches are expected to undergo comprehensive training as part of efforts at developing sports in the State. Be rest assured that coaches would receive the necessary training to guarantee success”, he concluded.
