The Ekiti State Football Association (Ekiti FA) has selected 1st December 2021 to stage its Annual General Meeting.
In a statement issued by the secretary to the football body, Pelumi Abiara on Tuesday at the end of an emergency meeting, the association aims to assess and repurpose football development in the state with the 1st December meeting.
For the smooth running of the 2021/2022 football season, the body’s board approved a revised work plan for competitions and other activities and approved a budget of fifty million naira (#50m) for the new football season.
With a few weeks to the kickoff of the season in the state, the Ekiti FA Board also gave clubs and other organizations under its purview the nod to pay the same affiliation fees approved for the just concluded 2020/2021 season.
Per the plan, the Unity Cup tournament in all local football councils in the state holds as scheduled in November and December 2021. Secondary school students in the state can look forward to the January-March 2022 period when the U-13 and U-15 football competitions get underway.
Both the state football league and FA Cup will run from February to July 2022. During this window – March to April – the AITEO Cup will also take center stage.
Beyond competitions, the football body included plans for a workshop and seminars in January 2022 to build capacity for grassroots coaches, players’ representatives, and others. Attention shifts to club owners and managers in February (2022) with a planned meeting/seminar.
