The Grand Patron of Ekiti State Football Association, Mr. O’Seun ‘Egghead’ Odewale has lauded the efforts and achievements of the Ekiti FA in the development of the state through football.
While declaring the Annual General Assembly of association open on Thursday, 22nd December, 2022, the Special Adviser/Director General of the Bureau of Public Procurement to Governor Biodun Oyebanji also promised his unwavering support to the leadership of the Ekiti FA led by Bayo Olanlege.
“I continue to get favourable reports from the chairman, I thank him for his leadership and I thank the team members for their support and for putting Ekiti on the football map” Odewale enthused.
Addressing the Congress of the FA via conferencing, Egghead promised to, as a matter of importance, table the matter of the Ekiti FA before the state government led by the sports loving Governor Oyebanji.
He disclosed that Governor Oyebanji has given him the assurances that the government will mobilise required machinery of support and resources to grow Ekiti FA to greater, exemplary and enviable heights within the comity of FAs in Nigeria.
The Grand Patron restated his accessibility for any football matter at all times.
“You have my support always, I don’t think you can take it for granted, I am supportive of your efforts, of the work that you do. And that, whatever is it that you need, you have me fully, beside you and behind you and in front of you to better soccer in our dear state” he added.
He also urged the football body to take valuable lessons from the recently concluded World Cup in Qatar, domesticate it in Ekiti for more accelerated development of the sports in the land of honour.
