Financial capacity is one of the most essential factor in running a football Club both in Nigeria and everywhere else, as a result of this, Kada city FC owner Ekene Adams has admitted that the reason for selling his club’s NPFL spot to Delta Force due to to lack of financial prowess.
Adams confirmed to Sports247 that football is big business and one that wouldn’t thrive under the current administrative climate where things are not well structured.
He said not having enough time to prepare his side beyond the technical side was one he couldn’t recover from and since he couldn’t secure necessary fund unlike Government owned clubs, there is a limit to which he can truly run the club in the topflight.
“We must see this from a business angle, majority of the clubs in Nigeria doesn’t see this from a business angle because they just see it as avenue to satisfy some people’s interest. I don’t have the financial muscle to campaign and push in the NPFL.
If my investors had come up with fund as at the short time given to start the league, I wouldn’t have considered selling the spot.”
