Nigeria’s Pillar Of Sports, High Chief Donatus Agu- Ejidike JP, has charged the newly appointed Minister of Youths and Sports Development, Sunday Dare, to focus on all sports in the country.
This was contained in a statement released by the office of the Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, congratulating the Ogbomosho born veteran journalist and ICT guru, who was sworn to the position alongside other appointed ministers Wednesday by President Muhammad Buhari.
In the statement, Ejidike, described the appointment of Sunday Dare as refreshing and inspiring. While also acknowledging the versatility of the new sports minister in the information world, he was however, quick to admonish him to bring his knowledge as a revered journalist and administrator to bear on Nigeria sports.
” I congratulate the new sports minister. And I say, his appointment is refreshing and inspiring, in view of his vast experience in journalism and ICT.
“I want him to consult widely, listen to advice but act wisely in decision making. He should also ensure that all sports federations are given adequate attention,” Ejidike, a board member of the Karate Federation of Nigeria advised.
The sports philanthropist went on to plead that sports stakeholders, corporate organisations and the media should support the sports minister, in his quest to lead Nigerian sports to greater heights.
