President of Surulere Regional Football League based in Lagos,Alhaji Salau Abiodun has congratulated muslims in Lagos State and across the country for a successful fasting.
In an official statement release issued by the body, Abiodun commended the muslims for their steadfastness, commitment and prayers during the Ramadan period insipte of the pandemic disease which is ravaging the world.
“On behalf of the mangement board,I congratulate our muslim brothers and sisters on the successful fast and the celebration of Eid-el-fitri festival.This is the period we need to come together and work for the progress of the country and this is the period we need to seek face of God to intervane on our socio-economic problems facing the country.At this juncture,i will urge my colleagues in the sporting industry and players to imbibe the spirit of love and harmony among themselves,”he said.
Abiodun however enjoined muslims and Nigerians to follow the guidelines issued by the government and obey the restrictions of movement as well as imbibing the virtues of humility,love, kindness and tolerance at this trying period of the country.
He also cautioned the club owners and coaches whose clubs or players engage in football activities saying that only Lagos State Football Association in line with directives from federal government would ease the lockdown before football can return to city of Lagos.
