Egbe Delighted By Rivers United’s Continental Return

Rivers United FC of Port Harcourt has received praise from stadium construction expert, Ebi Egbe, for qualifying for continental football despite not retaining the Nigerian Premier

Football League (NPFL) title in the 2022/23 championship play-off. Egbe, the CEO of
Monimichelle Group, also commended Chris Green, the Rivers State Commissioner of
Sports, for his personal motivation and support to the team.

Egbe acknowledged Rivers United’s tenacity in their match against Enyimba, where they
fought until the last minute and played well, resulting in a draw. Unfortunately, this placed
them in the third position on the Super Six log. Nevertheless, Egbe believed that Rivers
United had a commendable performance during the competition held in Lagos and deserved  recognition for their achievements.

Expressing his admiration for the team and Commissioner Chris Green, Egbe described
Green as a football administrator of exceptional qualities who played a significant role in
motivating the team.

He also stated his desire to see Rivers United playing their continental matches at their home stadium in Port Harcourt, rather than being forced to play away from home as they did in the current season. Egbe expressed confidence in the capability of Rivers State to provide the right playing surface required by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) for the continental campaign.

Egbe further expressed his delight at the positive feedback received from Rivers United and other teams about the quality of the playing surface at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Onikan, Lagos, which was constructed by Monimichelle.

He highlighted that both Enyimba and Remo Stars, who qualified for the CAF Champions League, have hybrid synthetic pitches constructed by Monimichelle Sports.

Overall, Ebi Egbe applauded Rivers United for their qualification for continental football,
acknowledging their performance and the valuable support provided by Chris Green. He
expressed his hope that the team would have the opportunity to play their upcoming
continental matches in their home stadium, and he took pride in the satisfaction expressed
by other teams regarding the high-quality playing surfaces constructed by Monimichelle.
