Former Super Eagles defender, Efe Ambrose has caught the attention of fellow-Nigerian, Eddy Ogenyi Onazi’s Turkish Super Lig club, Trabzonspor and three other suitors in the January transfer window.
Sports247.ng gathered that, so soon after opting out of his running contract with Hibernian of Scotland, Ambrose is not short of suitors.
Aside interest from Onazi’s Trabzonspor, Ambrose is wanted by another Turkish club, Akhisarspor, as well as Plymouth Argyle of England and Cardiff City of Wales, who pay in the English Premier League.
The 30-year-old Ambrose is aviable as a free agent, after refusing a new contract with The Hibs at Easter Road beyond the expiry of his running deal that was sealed in the summer.
After seven season in the Scottish Premiership, Ambrose is seeking new terrain, such he could be lure to join Onazi in the city of Trabzon, Turkey, but Plymouth Argyle are not giving up, though observers believe a move to Home Park looks the most unlikely of the defender’s options.
Similarly, Neil Warnock’s Cardiff want a new centre-back, but the squad that once had Peter Osaze Odemwingie on their cards are struggling in the EPL, and might not appeal to Ambrose.
Warnock, though, needs an experienced player like the former Kaduna United, SC Ashdod of Israel and Celtic of Scotland utility player, as the coach hunts for reinforcements to bolster the club’s survival chances.
Similarly, Akhisarspor are also struggling in the Turkish Super Lig, where they are currently 15th out of 18 teams, which makes them so desirous of snatching Ambrose.
However, current ratings are tipping Trabzonspor to hook Ambrose, who made 85 appearances and scored six goals for Hibernian, as The Hibs hit form after returning to the top-flight SPL and finished fourth last season.
