Education District II Triumphs At Lagos Agricultural Scholars Competition

The Lagos State Education District II has celebrated a significant victory at the Lagos Agricultural Scholars Competition, held on October 10th, 2024, at the Adeyemo-Bero Auditorium, Alausa, Ikeja.

The competition, organized by Dr. Claudiana Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu, the First Lady of Lagos State, aims to inspire young Nigerians to embrace agriculture as a means of empowering themselves while contributing to national economic growth.

By engaging students in agricultural education and practical farming projects, the initiative is designed to enhance food security and stimulate youth participation in modern farming techniques.

The program is part of a larger push by the Lagos State government to establish sustainable agricultural practices in schools through various projects like poultry farming, aquaculture, and vegetable cultivation.

Education District II’s success in this competition is a testament to the dedication of both its students and educators to promoting agricultural awareness.

The district has consistently supported agricultural education through initiatives such as the Lagos Agric Scholars’ Programme, which provides hands-on agricultural experiences to students.

This aligns with the state’s broader goals to ensure that every public secondary school in Lagos has the tools and knowledge necessary to pursue innovative farming practices.

The victory has once again underscored the importance of initiatives that not only equip students with practical skills but also ensure they play an active role in securing Nigeria’s agricultural future.
